Free iPhone app names that tune

Sunday, November 29, 2009

Ever heard a great song on the radio, in a store or during a movie and had no clue who sang it? With the free Shazam iPhone application from Apple’s AppStore, you can find out this info and more within seconds.

Whenever a song is playing, simply hold the iPhone up to the speaker, and tap the “Tag Now” button. Within seconds, you’ll not only see the name of the track, who sings it and the album it’s on, but you’ll also access album artwork, related YouTube videos and the option to preview and download the track from iTunes.

Tagged songs remain in your My Tags list, plus you can share these tags with others via email.

The Shazam app has a database of nearly 5 million tracks and growing. Next blog, I’ll share an iPhone app with practical uses.
