The MovieStick can't be found in the new James Bond flick, Quantum of Solace, but it certainly wouldn't be out of place had they included it. About the size of a pack of gum and weighing less than an ounce, Swann's miniature spy camera can shoot digital video and stills. Images are stored on a removable microSD memory card for easy transfer to a PC for uploading, editing or archiving. A 2GB microSD card, for example, can record up to 2.5 hours of video on the MovieStick (high-capacity cards aren't supported).
Although we haven't yet tested the device, the MovieStick's video quality is said to be comparable to a cell phone as it uses the 3GP video format and delivers an image resolution at 176 x 144 pixels (for both video and stills).
The built-in lithium battery can be recharged via a USB port located on the bottom of the MovieStick ($119.99 from Swann Security).

I am a syndicated technology journalist and author. I've spent the last 12 years waist-deep in gadgets, gizmos, gear and games. I'm very much living the "digital lifestyle," whether I'm flashing barcodes on my BlackBerry to board a plane, backing up my laptop's data onto a USB memory watch (Ok, so I know it's geeky) or jamming with my three kids in Rock Band. Like you, I love this stuff. So come back every Monday and Wednesday for new entries.
